Accessibility

If you have any access requirements not covered on this list we may be able to accommodate them. Please get in touch via email on info@reclaimthepower.org.uk.

Wheelchair trackway

There will be wheelchair accessible trackway to all areas of the camp. Two wheelchairs will be able to overtake or cross in opposite directions along the trackway, likely in passing places. The trackway is 2m wide.

Accessible Toilets

There will be an accessible toilet, a short distance from the main space. This will have trackway into a private tent and a commode chair over the toilet with fixed arms.

The logistics working groups will be looking for a second accessible toilet with movable arms for side transfers onto the toilet.

Hearing Loop

There will be two hearing loop systems. They are battery powered and free standing so can be moved around between tents.

Nut allergy

The whole camp will be nut-free, and people are requested not to bring nuts on site.

Well-being tent

There will be a tent maintained by the well-being working group.

Quiet space tent

There will be options of quiet social space. Absolute quiet can’t be guaranteed on the camp.

Wheelchair accessible minibus shuttle

For transporting people to and from the site from nearby station. There will be up to four wheelchair spaces in the mini-bus.

We cannot guarantee being able to drop people off directly to the site, as that depends on police response.

Charging for electric mobility aids

If you need to charge a mobility scooter please get in contacts in advance so the logistics working group can prep for it. You can contact us on info@reclaimthepower.org.uk.

Prayer Space

There will be a space specifically for multi-faith prayer. We cannot guarantee good cleaning facilities as with the rest of the camp.

Accessible camping

There will be a camping space sectioned off for more accessible camping. This means closer to the main area and toilets.

Quiet camping space

We are asking that the whole sleeping area is kept quiet, and there will be a designated area of the sleeping area that will be particularly quiet.

Showers

There might be some limited hot water for washing, but do not expect showers.

Food and eating

There will be three kitchens on site, Veggies Catering Campaign, Soup for my Family and an RtP camp kitchen.
There will be three meals a day: a cold breakfast, variable lunch and a hot evening meal.
Everyone will be expected to pitch in to help with cooking and washing-up according to their ability.

Will the food be all vegan?

All the food made in the Veggies and camp kitchen will be vegan. The Soup for my Family kitchen will largely be making vegan food, and anything otherwise will be clearly signposted.

How will I communicate allergies?

If you know you are coming and have certain allergies, please do email us in advance to tell us what to prep for.
In the welcome tent, you will be asked about allergies and these will be communicated to the kitchens.

The whole camp will be nut-free, and people are requested not to bring nuts on site.

What happens with kids and meal times?

Kids meals will be served before the main meal times, and their carers are welcome to join

What about left over food?

There will be a leftover system, where food from previous days will be boxed up and ready for people to eat at whatever time they need some extra sustenance.

Will there be hot drinks?

Yes, you’ll be able to make yourself hot drinks throughout the day

COVID-19

Please test for Covid-19 using a lateral flow test before you arrive at the camp, and do not attend if you have a positive test. There will be limited tests on arrival as we have low budget and Covid tests are shamefully expensive. If possible, wear an N95/KN95/KF94 grade face mask while inside.

The camp will be outside and always well ventilated.
