Reclaim the Power is back this summer with a mass protest camp for climate justice. As a decade old direct action network we will welcome new faces and old to a mass action camp targeting Drax – the biggest emitter in the UK, the world’s biggest burner of trees that fuels environmental racism around the world.
Join hundreds of others from across the country and further afield for six days of workshops, communal living and direct action to crash Drax’s profits. We will be camping from the 8-13th of August and attendance is entirely free, supported by donations.

RtP are a decade old direct action network that works in solidarity with front-line communities to make interventions for a fairer world. They helped sort out Fracking and ran Europe’s first climate & migrant justice camp back in 2019 🤝

Reclaim the Power are relaunching with an action camp targeting Drax from 8th 13th August. Can you support?
The global climate camp movement began at Drax in 2006, when our demand to end coal powered stations was dismissed as impossible. As the last coal fired plant in the UK prepares to close this September we’re back to finish our business.

There is a packed program of workshops, entertainment, games, a kids space, and hopefully lots of actions! The full program will be released three weeks before the camp, and a few announcements will be made before then.
Reclaim the Power is a do-it-yourself space, which means everyone who turns up is expected to pitch in (according to their ability). Every morning there will be a meeting where anyone can pick up key work to keep the camp running.
The national announcement is that you should book travel to LEEDS. The camp will be around an hour away, and we will announce the exact location and directions on the day. Any coaches running from around the UK will be confirmed two to three weeks before the camp.

Take on the world’s biggest tree burner and the UKs biggest single source of climate emissions this August!
18 years after the global Climate Camp movement launched at Drax power station, Reclaim the Power are back to finish the job, with five days of camping for Climate Justice. We’re demanding an end to bill payer subsidies, a worker led transition to sustainable jobs, and compensation for the communities poisoned by Drax’s operations. The timing is spot on for undermining the new wave of subsidies that Drax is dependent on, and the whole thing is going to be a transatlantic team up with the communities whose health is being trashed by wood pellet production in Mississippi. Plus a Ceilidh, a drag night, a kids space, wheelchair access tracks, a range of exciting workshops on intersectional issues, and the chance to take action at a range of risk levels.
